This tool displays BGP routes for any IP address or Autonomous System (ASN): IPv4/IPv6 prefixes, peering connections, and data from Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). Data is provided by the BGPView API.
BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is a dynamic routing protocol used to exchange routing information between autonomous systems on the internet. BGP determines the path that data packets take between different provider networks.
An ASN (Autonomous System Number) is a unique identifier for an autonomous system. Every major organization (ISP, hosting provider, CDN) has its own ASN. Via BGP, it announces the IP address blocks (prefixes) it owns.
An RIR (Regional Internet Registry) is a regional body that manages internet number resources: RIPE NCC (Europe/CIS), ARIN (North America), APNIC (Asia-Pacific), LACNIC (Latin America), AFRINIC (Africa).
